New Year’s Resolutions

2019 was a big year for Krugo — our first full-year in business! Time flew by but lots happened over the last 12 months.

As we stepped back to take a small break for the holiday season, we thought we’d share some highlights from 2019:

  1. We shipped out 28 software updates since our first release (hope you had auto-updates on).

  2. We launched the Krugo Android app in March and we’re now at feature parity between iOS and Android. Equality for all!

  3. We integrated with Apple Music™ and Spotify™ and created Trippy — our newest and most automated team member. He’s a trip-planning robot with a personality. Ever wanted to plan a vacation around all of your favorite teams and artists? That’s what Trippy does.

  4. We grew a lot as a team. Every day we’re connecting with users, discovering creative design solutions, building new systems and developing new third-party partnerships.

Each passing day, we can feel that Krugo is starting to become more like the product that we set out to create when we first started the company.

We’ve never been able to get a picture with everyone in it. This is about as close as we’ve come. Sorry to Josh, Paul, Ali and Aiyana. (Photo courtesy: GOS; Cal Fehr)

As we wind down a busy 2019, our minds are already racing about what we’ve got planned for the year ahead.

Can a company have New Year’s Resolutions…?

I guess they’re more like goals but, either way, here’s some of the things that we’re excited for in 2020:

1. Things to do! More content, better content…

We envision Krugo evolving to become a trusted local source for ‘things to do’ in cities around North America. A product that has an almost-local appeal but delivered through a mobile app with the design quality and user experience that our users have come to expect from leading apps like Netflix and Uber.

We believe that Krugo will become the place where people go to gaze into the real-life social side of the cities where they live and the ones that they visit, as well.

To do that, we know that we need to provide more valuable content in a way that’s personalized and curated for each individual user. Krugo is built to grow with each user, elevating their experience the more they use it.

More events? More places to stay? More information on restaurants and bars?… More everything!

More events? More places to stay? More information on restaurants and bars?… More everything!

In 2020, we’re beefing up our inventory of live events in cities throughout North America and around the world but we’re also adding in more categories of ‘things to do’:

  • Restaurants and Bars — Where’s the place to be on game-day? Do we have a reservation? Who makes the best cocktails?

  • Activities — Escape rooms, pub crawls and Segway tours. We want you to help you find them and share them with your friends.

  • Recreation — Think about things like tee-times and hikes. The fun stuff that you love to fill your travel plans with.

Plus, if you’re travelling (which A LOT of Krugo users are), we’re going to help you find and book the best possible hotels, condos and vacation homes based on everything that you plan to do.

If you’re going to a bunch of events in downtown LA, we’ll recommend some Stays based on proximity to everything that you’re doing and the deals available across 29 million listings worldwide.

2. Group Planning

The idea was always that Krugo was meant to be shared. In 2020, we’ll be adding tools that make it easier for groups to plan together in ways they’ve never experienced before:

  • Sharing ideas for things to do (everything from plans on the weekend to the two week honeymoon itinerary)

  • Managing shared itineraries (“wait… what day are you flying in, again?”)

  • Keeping track of purchases and splitting up expenses (yay)

Manage shared itineraries, create different groups with friends and family and share ideas for things you want to do.

3. Corporate partnerships

We’re always looking for ways to share the Krugo experience. In 2020, we’ll be launching an exciting new partnership program that will make it easy for other companies to tap into what we’ve built with Krugo to provide their guests, partners and clients an incredible branded product experience.

We’re looking forward to sharing more information on this soon!

As we continue to build, we are thankful for our early users, partners and investors. To everyone that’s following along with the journey, we’re grateful for your ongoing support and encouragement!

Happy New Year!
